What FloType does with your typing

• Everything FloType learns — how you tap, which words you use, your personal dictionary, your contact names — stays on your device and is never uploaded.
• FloType has no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no trackers. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
• FloType sends diagnostic reports to the developer to improve typing accuracy for everyone and address bug reports. What those contain is outlined in full below.

These are stored on your iPhone and are never transmitted anywhere:

• Your tap patterns. Where your fingers actually land for each letter, used to improve accuracy over time.
• Your word model. Which words and word pairings you personally use, so common ones for you rank higher.
• Your personal dictionary. Words you added by hand.
• Contact names. If you turn on contact-name suggestions, FloType reads only first and last names — never phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, notes, or anything else in the contact card. They are cached on your device for the keyboard to read, and are never uploaded anywhere. You can turn contact syncing off at any time, which will clear this local cache.
• Text replacements. FloType honors the expandable shortcuts you set up in iOS Settings. It reads them; it does not copy or transmit them. You can switch this off in the FloType app.

FloType is an accessibility keyboard, and the hardest part of its job is understanding why a particular word came out wrong. To do that, FloType sends anonymous diagnostic reports to the developer — not to a cloud analytics company, and not to any third party.

What a diagnostic report contains

• Diagnostic markers describing taps, swipes, corrections and suggestion choices
• A random session identifier, and a per-install identifier for your device
• Your name, only if you chose to enter one in the app — otherwise reports are anonymous, and only could be identified by the random install identifier referenced above
• App version and build number
• Device model, iOS version, and whether VoiceOver is running
• Memory usage, and whether the previous session ended in a crash

Turning it off

Diagnostics travel over the network, and iOS blocks keyboard network access unless Allow Full Access is on. Leaving Full Access off stops diagnostic uploads completely. You will also lose haptics and your configured settings — the trade-off is explained in the guide.

The FloType app has a Send Feedback screen. When you use it, your message is sent to the developer along with a diagnostic report as described above.

You can record your feedback by voice instead of typing it. The microphone is used only while you are on that screen and have tapped Record — never by the keyboard, and never in the background.

If you turn on iCloud sync, your personal dictionary and settings sync between your own devices through your iCloud account. That data goes to Apple under Apple's terms, not to the developer, who cannot see it.

iCloud sync is optional and off unless you enable it.
